Sh. Virendra Singh, an Indian Revenue Service Officer of the 1985 Batch, attained superannuation as Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Bihar & Jharkhand Region after thirty-five years of distinguished service.
He has rich and varied experience of working in different wings of the Income Tax Department at senior management level, ranging from Investigation, Assessment & Administration to International Taxation, Risk Assessment & the Large Taxpayer Unit. Additionally, for seven years he also worked as Superintendent of Police/Deputy Inspector General of Police in the Economic Offence Wing of the Central Bureau of Investigation, wherein he was responsible for monitoring and supervising investigations relating to various kinds of financial crimes and frauds.
He specializes in laws relating to tax and prevention of money laundering and other economic offences. He is an Independent Director in West End Housing Finance Ltd, Mumbai. He is also serving on the board of Invent Assets Securitisation & Reconstruction Private Ltd, Mumbai, as an Independent Director. He is a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
